This is one of the most common leaks we have seen on these transmissions over the past 25 years. If you are discovering big puddels of red transmission fluid on the ground at the front of the transmission I can almost guarantee it is the front pump leaking. This WILL not work on the smaller 722.4 transmission found in the W123 1985 turbo diesel, and any 4, 5, or six cylinder gas or diesel engine from 1986 to 1995.
