6.3 V/8 Injection Pump De-Gunking and Flow Test Kit

For a 6.3 that has not run in years this is the best way to determine if the expensive injection pump is ok

Watch the video below to understand what this kit can do. Kent used it on his 6.3, which had sat outside and had not run in 19 years. The 6.3 injection pump is rare, to say the least, and can be very expensive to overhaul. Treat it with great care!  Ensure it is thoroughly cleaned and lubricated before starting the engine after long storage.

Product Details

You will receive eight special aluminum pipes with the correct fittings on one end, eight clear plastic hoses, each 12 inches in length, and capture and test bottles attached to each hose with cinch clamps. The bottles are vented at the top lip to prevent pressure build-up. The included on-demand video instructions will give you more details.

The low-pressure fitting uses an O-ring to seal it to the delivery valve. Hand-tight is enough in most cases. If you use a wrench, 1/8 turn only. There is no warranty if you overtighten these fittings!

NEVER USE GASOLINE to clean or test the pump in this manner. Kent prefers 80 percent carb cleaner and 20 percent non-synthetic automatic transmission fluid as a cleaning agent. Clean the lines and bottle with diesel fuel after using and leave them empty. If you leave the cleaning agent inside you will deteriorate the plastic.

IMPORTANT: Along with these lines, you will need a small remote tank and a low-pressure electric pump OR one of our pressurized fluid tanks to feed cleaner/lubricant through your jump while you are turning the engine over with the starter. On diesel engines with a lift pump only the remote tank would be needed. (hold the tank high to gravity feed to the engine).
