Why have a separate tester just to measure the full pressure running inside the transmission? For this test, the pressure can reach up to 240 psi and can go higher if there is a restriction. This requires a special gauge and hose that can handle the pressure. For normal modulation and governor pressure testing, you are only looking at around 50 psi. Also, I do not recommend putting the gauge in the car in case of a rupture. I don't think I need to spell out why. You do not need to drive to test this pressure. You can hold the gauge outside the driver's door and do the test while the engine is idling.

A quality liquid-filled 600 psi gauge is used.
The correct banjo bolt fitting with sealing rings is mounted to the other end of the tester. This will bolt right up to the test port without any modification.
