Now, a very long 11-inch 10mm wrench with a standard box on one end and a ratcheting box on the other end. We grind the standard box end down thinner so it can get over the top of those hard-to-reach bolts. I developed this special tool out of sheer frustration from years of trying to remove rounded-off and frozen 10 mm head bolts that mount the viscous clutch to the water pump. These special 10mm bolts (4) are often abused, and when you try to get them off, particularly with an open-end 10mm wrench, you can round the head, and then you've got some real problems.

PLEASE NOTE: THE NEW WRENCH IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE PICTURED IN THE VIDEO ABOVE. What is particularly nice is having the extra torque of the long wrench. Most 10mm combination wrenches are really short, and if they are offset at all, they are very hard to get onto these bolts. If you have been as frustrated as I have with these bolts, then you will appreciate this solution. If changing a water pump or viscous fan is in your future, I highly recommend this tool. It will save a lot of frustration and some busted-up knuckles. The new wrench is long enough that it extends above the fan shroud.
