Excess play in these old steering boxes can no longer be adjusted out. They are all just too old and too worn. The only good option to restore tight steering is to install a rebuilt box. The box does not include the pitman arm. Take your old box to a good machine shop or front-end shop to have them remove the pitman arm from your old box and install it on the rebuilt. You will NOT be able to do this without a super heavy-duty puller - I guarantee it!
