1976 300D, How to remove battery tray

How do you remove the battery tray? I removed the two bolts, but it still seems to be attached to the inner fender.

Get all the bolts?

Not sure I can remember all the locations of the bolts. There is one up by the radiator core upright support and there is one or two studs that go through the inner fender panel. Look under the fender just forward of the tire for evidence of 10 mm head nuts.

Yes, after removing the two

Yes, after removing the two nuts from under the fender the battery tray came right out. I was surprised how easy the nuts came off after 34 years.
